Manchester United striker Alessia Russo has won the PFA Vertu Motors WSL Fans’ Player of the Month award following an impressive November.
The England international grabbed two goals against title rivals in a brief November period for the Red Devils.
Prior to the international break, Man Utd were beaten 3-1 by champions Chelsea, but Russo managed to score her side’s only goal in that contest.
On the other side of the break, Russo scored a 91st minute winner as Man Utd came from behind late on to beat Arsenal 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium.
Russo is now up to joint-sixth in the WSL scoring charts, with four goals from six games so far this season. Man Utd have also climbed to second in the table, three points behind leaders Chelsea but having played one game fewer.
With 36% of the public vote, Russo was the clear winner for November’s award, Rachel Daly of Aston Villa finishing in second place with 24%.
Chelsea duo Sam Kerr and Lauren James claimed 14% and 13% respectively. Manchester City striker Khadija Shaw came fifth with 7%, and Brighton’s Danielle Carter rounded off the vote with 6%.
