Milan team news

Rossoneri boss Stefano Pioli has a number of worries in attack, being without Zlatan Ibrahimovic while also being unsure on the availability of Rade Krunic and Ante Rebic.

Alessandro Florenzi is expected to be sidelined for a few months, but new loan signing Sergino Dest won’t be involved just yet. Instead, Davide Calabria should get the nod at right back.

Milan Starting 11: Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Hernandez; Bennacer, Tonali; Messias, Diaz, Leao; Giroud.
Bench: Tatarusanu, Bennacer, Pobega, Adli, Kalulu, Saelemaekers, Bakayoko, Mirante, Gabbia, Ballo-Toure, Ketelaere.

Inter team news

Inter will be without Romelu Lukaku, leaving it to Edin Dzeko and Joaquin Correa to compete for a spot up front alongside Lautaro Martinez.

Summer signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been out injured and could return to the bench having not yet made his debut for the club, but Inter are otherwise free of injury problems.

Milan Starting 11: Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Darmian; Martinez, Dzeko.
Bench: Onana, Agoume, Dimarco, D’Ambrosio, Bellanova, Gosens, Correa, Asllani, Mkhitaryan, Fontanarosa, Zanotti.

The Derby della Madonnina never fails to disappoint but with both teams in decent nick, something may have to give here.

Milan are enjoying a terrific 20-game undefeated streak in Serie A, while Inter have won seven of their past eight games. The Nerazzurri also hold the slight edge in the head-to-head stakes.

It may be Simone Inzaghi who triumphs over Pioli here, but it’ll be a close run game.

Prediction: Milan 1-2 Inter
